Abdulkareem Akbik

Hey! My name is Abdulkareem Akbik and I am a grade 12 student with a passion for technology and anything random! Every photo on this website was taken by me (except the one of me!), and I mostly specialize in drone photography. I continue to expand my skills in all areas of media creation, including videography and ground photography. Recently, I decided to dive deeper into the civic world in Canada and explore what makes the country run. I enjoy challenging myself and pushing the limits of what can be done. Hopefully, both you and I can continue to show the world that what is being done isn?t enough, and that there will always be a wall to push further.

What's Next

Explore upcoming projects and creative endeavors that showcase the future of visual storytelling and community engagement.

In the future, I plan to create a full time lapse capturing Milton throughout the day. This will include morning rush hour, afternoon activity, and evening lights, giving a clear view of how the city moves and how traffic patterns change over time.

This upcoming series will focus on important local topics, from transportation challenges to public space maintenance. Each episode will break down an issue in a simple, visual way, aiming to inform and spark discussion in the community.

This project will showcase the full transformation of a photo or video starting from the unedited, raw capture and ending with the polished final product. I'll walk through the editing process to show how creative decisions shape the finished work.

The goal of this project is to condense Milton City Hall meetings into short, under-one-minute videos and articles that highlight the key decisions, debates, and updates that matter most to residents without the hours-long watch time.

For this series, I'll be heading out into the streets of Milton to talk directly with residents. These quick, candid interviews will cover everything from local concerns to favorite spots in town, capturing the real voices of the community.
